Walk-In Sick Clinic

When your child isn’t feeling well, we offer same-day sick visit appointments whenever possible. Parents may call the office, message through the patient portal, or use walk-in sick clinic hours for timely care.

Walk-In Hours:

Monday–Friday, 7:50–8:50 AM

No appointment is needed during walk-in hours. Children are seen by the first available provider, and wait times may vary depending on the morning’s volume.

If you’re unsure whether walk-in care is the best option, you’re always welcome to call the office or message our team through the patient portal for guidance.

When to Call vs. When to Come In

If you’re unsure whether your child needs to be seen, calling our office is often the best first step. Our staff can help you determine whether symptoms can be managed at home, scheduled for a same-day visit, or evaluated in person.

You should contact our office if your child has:

  • Fever or ongoing symptoms
  • Cough, congestion, or breathing concerns
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Ear pain or sore throat
  • Rash or skin concerns
  • Changes in eating, sleeping, or behavior
  • Any symptom that worries you as a parent

If symptoms are severe or urgent, our team will guide you to the appropriate next step.

After-Hours Guidance

If your child becomes sick outside regular office hours, call our main number at 252-329-7337. You will be connected to After Hours Nurse Triage, where a registered nurse will assess symptoms and provide guidance.

If needed, your child may be directed to the ECU After Hours Clinic for an evening appointment.

Sick Child Visits FAQs

Helpful answers when your child is unwell

Do I need to call before coming in for a sick visit?

Calling first is helpful when possible. Our staff can guide you on whether to schedule a visit, use walk-in hours, or manage symptoms at home.

Are same-day appointments available?

Yes. We offer same-day sick visit appointments at both of our Greenville locations, as well as weekday walk-in sick clinic hours. Availability may vary, and calling ahead is always encouraged when possible.

What if my child gets sick at night or on the weekend?

If your child becomes sick after regular office hours, call our main number. Our phones automatically roll over to after-hours nurse triage and clinic coverage, where a registered nurse can assess symptoms and guide next steps. If needed, your child may be directed to an after-hours clinic for additional care.

What should I bring to a sick visit?

Bring your child’s insurance card, a list of symptoms, and any medications your child is currently taking.

Can I use the patient portal for sick questions?

The patient portal can be used for non-urgent questions during business hours. For urgent concerns, calling the office is recommended.
